About the Sling Doctor
When I became a mum to my wonderful daughter in 2025, I knew I wanted to carry her right from the start. Living on the rural Hardwick Estate outside Whitchurch-on-Thames, the paths around us were completely unsuitable for prams and pushchairs, so Maeve needed to be carried if I wanted to get outside. That’s how we started, using old hand-me-down carriers from friends which in retrospect were badly fitting, uncomfortable for the wearer and at times even unsafe for my baby. I knew at the time things didn’t feel right but it took me months to start searching for better options - and once I’d felt the difference of a well-fitting carrier (with the help of a babywearing consultant), I wanted to share this with others.
Working as an NHS A&E doctor, I spend my working days having conversations with people, working out the cause of their problems and trying my best to fix it. Babywearing consultancy is very similar in some ways! I love problem solving and would be thrilled to try to find the best solution for your family too.
